Does anyone know if the huge clocks at the Mus

  • Considering this building was originally Gare d' Orsay, the railway station, it is unlikely that they have mechanism for chiming.
The one adjacent to museum cafe has no bells in evidence, probably an unsociable cacophony if it were to chime. ;)
  • I don't know for sure, but I would agree with Jan. They don't seem like chiming clocks, and I don't remember ever having heard then chime when I've been there, but I doubt I would remember it, so really it's just a guess.

That was helpful, wasn't it? :)
  • Sounds to me like a good excuse for a trip to Paris to find out :)
  • The clock in Notre dame chimes, if that's any help. (Well, you never know!)

  • Oh GAY PAREEEEEEE! How I would love a touristee weekend 'en France, avec toi, a ce propre moment'! Le weekend! tres beau!
  • There is a web site and a contact email have you tried emailing them to ask?

  • Thanks, everyone. I've taken all your suggestions on board and will let you know when I get a definite answer.
  • Problem solved! I followed kateyanne's suggestion to email the museum's website and got a reply with impressive speed. The clocks do NOT chime, so I'm going to have to think again. Thank you again, kateyanne.
  • Glad to help Montholon.
