Chudleigh Literary Festival

Wednesday 18th July, Chudleigh, Devon (5 miles south of Exeter)

The Second Annual Literary Festival (organised as part of Chudfest) in the Chudfest Marquee, PlayPark, Fore Street

Morning: Writers' Workshop, led by poet and Creative Writing tutor Chris Waters
9:30am to 12:30pm; £5
Open to writers of all ages and levels, from beginners upwards

Afternoon: Children's Workshop, led by author and illustrator Simon James
2pm to 3:30pm; free

Afternoon: Open mic session for members of Chudleigh Writers' Circle and others. Reading slots to be booked in advance
4pm to 5:30pm; free

Evening: Meet the Authors with Simon Hall (BBC Spotlight Reporter and author of the TV Detective novels); Sam North (novelist and screen-writer, Exeter University) and Rebecca Gethin (winner of Cinnamon Press Novel Award 2012 for Liar Dice)
7pm to 9pm (Bar opens at 6pm), £5

    The south-west has lots more literary festivals than the East Midlands.
  • Simon James gave a talk at our MA. I like his picture books.
  • Sounds interesting. I'm in north Dorset, but it's just that bit too far for me.
