I can't add my Amazon page to my TB profile.

edited July 2014 in - Resources
The title says it all really ... If I use this link http://www.amazon.co.uk/-/e/B004O08LRQ then try to save, the box for the link just becomes empty. If I use this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Patsy-Collins/e/B004O08LRQ/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_pop_1 it says 'website not valid'.

  • Hmmm, I don't know why that would be. I can't remember how I did mine. I just looked back at it - I 'm guessing I just used 'Edit profile' and pasted it in. Shall I flag this for Webbo, PM?
  • Thanks, just flagged it myself (hadn't realised we could flag our own posts)

Yes, I used edit profile copied and pasted. That worked for my blog etc. I couldn't do it before, assumed it was a glitch and then forgot about it. It was looking at your profile for H_A which reminded me.

I'm here! Sorry, I can't see how to get that bit of text displaying above the profile... I think it might be a plugin that we later removed. As for Amazon, I remember lots of niggles with it when I was trying to get the profiles working in the first place.

  • Patsy, the second Amazon address, I think, is causing a problem because of that "=" - the internal site checking script is objecting (it doesn't actually visit the site to check). You could also use: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Patsy-Collins/e/B004O08LRQ/
  • And it does work when added to the other text boxes. I've added it in your "LinkedIn" field for now, which I realise is not anything like a solution!
  • I used TinyUrls with mine.

    Hark at me sounding knowledgeable...

I don't know if they're more easily accepted?
  • That should work too - the link checker will only get as far as the tinyurl. Doesn't fix the other thing though, alas!
  • You'll probably need a monkey wrench for that.
  • Thanks for taking a look, Webbo.
