Kindle Direct Publishing

I am wondering if any of you writers have used the Kindle Direct Publishing on Amazon, and what your experiences of it were?

Quite a few of the members on here have used KDP, so I'm sure they'll be able to share their up to date experiences.

I have, aided by my technical wiz of a son, and I'm very happy with the results. All my books so far have sold well and one topped the Amazon best seller list in its category.
