I was going to use the money to fly Business Class, to Dubai with my wife for a holiday. But then I realised 1. she hates flying. 2.Can't stand heat, so have settled for a couple of bottles of beer.

Today, I was at the centre where I take the creative group for U3A, to man a stand at the annual Open Day. Armed with examples from the group, I walked up to the Chairman. "Where is my stand?" "Who are you?" "Creative Writing." He looked at his list. "Don't have you down. Who did you tell?" A slight pause, and I said "YOU." Panic, and eventually they found me place by a wall and found me a small table. How are the mighty fallen (or summat like that). I did get the three vacancies filled, so satisfaction.
