Book recommendations

edited July 2015 in Writing
Hello

I'm looking for two types of books (mainly because I'm in the process of writing my first novel and want to get some different viewpoints on how to tackle things). Can you recommend any great books that fall into these categories please?

1) Books with multiple narrators or points of view, for example, Half of a Yellow Sun

2) Books set against a vast political landscape (UK or abroad), for example, Midnight's Children?

Ideally literary fiction but happy with well written genre fiction too.

Thanks!

  • I'm reading Girl on the Train at the moment and it has multiple narrators/viewpoint characters. But more commercial than literary.
  • 1) I think pretty much any of the Armistead Maupin books are told from multiple viewpoints.

    2) War and Peace
