Erewash Writers' Group - celebrating our fifth year of writing competitions

edited November 2015 in Writing
http://erewashwriterscompetition.weebly.com/

We've held writing competitions, open to entries from around the UK and world wide, since 2012.

Next year we will be celebrating our achievement of providing quality competitions which exist to encourage and reward writing.

Our competitions also provide cash donations to UK charity. We are particularly interested in hearing from voluntary groups with a reliance on donations to exist. Although we are more than happy to support large, well-known charities, we are also very keen to donate our cash to groups with less visibility. If you are a group which, for example, does not have a high street charity shop and can't afford massive TV advertising campaigns, then please do contact us to make us aware of your existence. erewashwriterscomps (at) hotmail.co.uk

Thanks, TN. Kind of you to say so.

For anyone else unaware of these comps, they exist to encourage and reward writing.

There is a £200 prize fund for the annual Open Short Story Comp, so generally all incoming fees are paid out to that, a little is given to the writing group to help pay for a writing event for them all. Then a donation to charity is provided too. We use left overs to help pay for some of the prizes for free comps.

I'll add a link here soon to a freebie that is coming up, ending in February 2016.
