Wordpress Query

edited March 2017 in Writing
Just found this message at the very bottom of my blog page:

'It looks like the WordPress site URL is incorrectly configured. Please check it in your widget settings.'

(I know once upon a time, I merrily added widgets galore to the site, but I'm blowed if I can find where they are hiding now. They are not in Settings.)

Can anyone enlighten me as to where my widget settings might be, and how I would correctly configure the url?

I find Wordpress very complicated behind the scenes!

  • They've changed things a few times since I setup Serena's WP site, and I no longer know where half the things are now.

Try googling where are widgets settings in Wordpress? So start herehttps://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Widgets

  • It's actually staggeringly simple.

But it may be that on some themes it's trickier - but they should all be the same.

Widgets alter the appearance of your site. Look under appearance.
  • By the way - if your Wordpress url is incorrect, then it won't work... so does it mean you have put in a link to your site in a widget that is incorrect?
  • Oh, but the link does work. That's why I thought it strange.
  • In that case, ignore the warning. If everything is working, don't worry. i haven't had a warning like this, but imo, if all is well, don't do ANYTHING.
  • I like that answer. Thanks, Liz.
