Getting known

edited May 2018 in Writing
Our group of writers tried something new this weekend. We decided to promote ourselves, the Sea Scribes, by holding a charity event. We chose the Parkinson's Society and found a church hall and sold tickets. We provided tea and coffee and asked a number of local singers and musicians to join us in a 'Music and Words' sandwich, alternating songs and readings. We had plenty of information about our books and copies in the raffle.
Happily, people seemed to enjoy it and we are very grateful to all who participated.

  • That sounds like a good idea, goldstick. Did you actually sell your books at the event, or were they only offered in the raffle?
I'm lucky in that my writing group is sponsored by Bantry library which is heavily involved in the West Cork Literary Festival every year, so we always get a slot at the festival.
