find that book!

A customer at the library where I work has asked for a children's book about a child who doesn't like the letter O and therefore says spn instead of spoon. She does not know the title or author. None of the staff have heard of it or can track it down. Does it exist? Do any of you clever people have any idea what books she means?

  • I'm just googling here. So far I've found The Wonderful O by James Thurber, which isn't quite the same. It's about a pirate that bans the letter o from an island.

    I'll continue looking.
  • I've also found 'The o book', which I really think could be the thing you're talking about. Only problem is there is very little citing it on the web. Here are the two sources I've found:

    http://www.amazon.com/Book-Sixteen-Emotional-Problems-Dyslexia/dp/0892140089
    http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Does_anybody_remember_The_O_book_A_children's_book_all_about_the_letter_'O'

From this it seems it is a children's book, it is about the letter o, and dyslexia. It sounds like it could what your customer asked for.
  • Isn't there something called The Story of O? But I think that might not be totally appropriate.
  • Jay! That's certainly not a children's book!!
