Bristol Short Story Prize 2010

edited June 2010 in - Resources
I'd really like to know who made it onto the long list and all the links I've tried seem to be broken. If anyone has it and could copy and paste, I'd be very grateful. (I've seen the short list.)

Well done to anyone that did though :)
  • I see JC got into the longlist.
  • Thanks very much, Heather. A few names I recognise there and it's good to know that they made the initial cut.
  • I missed JC - well spotted, Carol!
JC is really becoming 'the one to follow' on all sorts of competitions. I wonder if one could 'open a book' (PUN!) on her?
  • And here is the shortlist. JC is still in there!

  • Sorry - but are we supposed to know who JC is?
  • those who enter Write Invite every week do, Claudia. I can't remember the name but I know from the various postings on that competition.
  • Thanks, Dorothy. Sorry if I sounded tetchy - but I sometimes feel isolated by folk talking in what seems like their own private code.
  • I know the feeling only too well, which is why I picked up the query and answered it. I think we sometimes assume everyone reads every thread, which of course we don't.
  • It's Joanna Campbell, who also has won comps in Writers Forum (and probably others too!)
  • I thought everyone knew who JC was. Heavens above! :)
  • There are two free copies of the anthology available in a mini-comp on Sally Quilford's blog. Closes Friday.
  • Who won?
  • edited August 2010
Valerie O'Riordan (shares my mum's maiden name). She's an MA student at Manchester University and the story is only 350 words long.

  • I'd like to read that - where do you suppose I'd find it?
  • In the anthology!

Have a go at Sally's quite easy comp for a possible free one, or buy online at Amazon.
