• At the moment, I only have The Find as an e-book on Kindle and Smashwords, but am hoping that my husband will have the time to put my next book, A Little Book of Graffiti on Kindle in the next week or two. The Find has been reduced to £1.01 for the moment and we'll probably put the Graffiti book free or very cheap. As soon as I have a moment, I'm hoping to have a book of poetry ready also. You can access the Kindle book from my website: www.vericathefind.info

My first book, The Find, on Kindle and Smashwords has now been reduced to £1.01 and can be accessed from my website: www.vericathefind.info. I'm hoping my husband will have time in the next week or two to put my Little Book of Graffiti on Kindle also either free or very cheap and, when we have time, a collection of poetry, too.
• Phew, just bought practically all the above Managed to work out what i was doing wrong!!
• Don't forget me! My novel Losing Lucy is now on kindle, although it shares its title with a totally different book by someone else! Bad planning there.
• I might as well join the list.

The Kindle version of Pets in a Pickle was No 2 on the bestseller list last September for two weeks when priced at 99p. It's currently £1.79 and standing around 1000 in the listing. Had 56 Amazon reviews.

I'm just in the process of getting another novel, Going Bananas, up on Kindle. This is being done with some nervousness as it's way, way out of line with the Pets series and could make ladies of a certain age cringe with embarrassment should they think they're buying more stories about a young vet. It's full of lavatorial, juvenile humour and certainly an acquired taste. Not mainstream so I wouldn't dream of attempting to place it with a publisher. I wrote it years back: and yet re-reading it now I have to confess I still find it funny and am amazed at how I managed to come up with such wild over-the-top plot. I'm probably going to put it on at 99p just to see if I can attract some readers and am bracing myself for some damning reviews should any one bother to place them on Amazon.

Am I being an idiot to do this? Do you think it will jeopardize my Pets series - esp as the sequel, Pets on Parade, is being published 2nd April - by confusing potential readers? Or could it ride on the publicity that might be generated by the sequel?
• What about doing it under a pseudonym? There is a real reason why authors do this. I think I would. You can always reveal authorship at a later date.

in a way a lewd or suggestive name might even bring in more, and more appropriate custom!

PS Bought yours too.

They are all, just TBers, on my ipad and they look terribly exciting!

Yep. Liz. That had crossed my mind. Probably a good idea.

• I've two on Kindle.

Chicklit (A Proper Charlie): http://www.amazon.co.uk/A-Proper-Charlie-ebook/dp/B004NSV6NK/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1329218358&sr=1-1 which is 2,204 in the charts and I'm chuffed to bits about that!

Romance/sci-fi (Eden): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Eden-ebook/dp/B0052DN2YG/ref=sr_1_2?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1329218358&sr=1-2 isn't doing so well (20,086) but still happy.
•
More people buy Ebooks on a Friday and Saturday than any other day of the week.
That's really interesting.
• This is my novel:

And this is a non-fiction book of Ghost Walks in Brighton (part of a series the publishers are doing of the country)

• My kindle novel, Oh Great, Now I Can Hear Dead People has just been signed up by a 'proper' (in that I mean a traditional, mainstream publisher) for hard and paperback rights. Ive negotiated to retain the digital rights because it sells over 150 copies a week and I'm tied in with KDP Select Lending rights at the moment. The moral of this story is that it is possible to secure a mainstream deal if you're persistent and you can show that your work is selling.

Blimming hell, Midia. That's fab! Well done!

Did they approach you, or were you still sending it out?
• I was still subbing it out, Louise. I'd forgotten that I'd sent it out before Christmas and only remembered when I received a reply last week. I was about to put it through the Feed a Read scheme that was advertised in the Writing Magazine when I heard back from the publisher.
• Great news, Midia!
• Wow! That is fantastic news! Well done.
• By the way, Midia, is that you on the cover?
• I'm sure you saw this coming, Midia! Congrats!!
• Thank you, folks! No it's not me on the cover, Ana - I do have blonde hair, but more laughter lines!
• Fab news Midia, well done - and thanks for sharing the details about keeping your digital sales. 150 a week is superb!

sweetpea - congrats on the Kindle Books. Brighton's just up the road from me (Eastbourne)!
• Have published one of my cross stitch patterns on kindle just to see how it all works. I'm not sure the kindle is the best medium for patterns, especially larger ones, but this hasn't turned out too badly. Hope I've inserted the link properly.

• Fab news, Midi! Congratulations!
• thanks brilliant Midia, well done :)
• Your book looks lovely, Blackfeather! I just wish I could sew!
• Ooh, it does indeed Blackfeather. I can sew but I would never have the patience to do anything so beautiful like that. Good luck and hope it sells well :)
• Congratulations, Midia.
• This week I 'launched' my project: Strawberry Jam Books!
The aim of the project is to promote fairness and understanding for children who live with disabilities, difficulties or difference. Aswell as a web site with resources, games and information there are books for children from preschool age up to age 12. I've been working on this for -umm - ages, along with others in my family. It's a bit of a family effort and something I've been plotting for years!

I decided the best place for the books (for now, anyway) was kindle. This is the link to one title called The Day Dad Borrowed an Elephant - and, if anyone is interested, you can find the others by clicking on author's/my name (Hilary Hawkes). Seven books so far. And I'm intending to write and add more - aswell as add more fun stuff and useful info to the website.

• Sounds great, Daisy and a really good aspect to try and educate people on. The more that children are shown that people with disabilites, or differnces aren't some alien species, the better. I was lucky to be brought up by parents who taught us to treat everyone the same, and that's the way it should be. My husband's eldest brother was disabled after being hit by a car and he got into several scrapes at school when kids would say things, about anyone, not just his brother. It's something we both feel very strongly about so it's great to see more people educating, promoting and discussing things like this. (I myself spent a year on and off in a wheelchair following an accident, and I was amazed at the behaviour of some people.)

I'll be passing your link onto my friend and asking her to circulate it to her 'mum' friends :)
• Well done, Midia. I just read about your success. That's fantastic.
• Daisy, that's absolutely wonderful. I train our staff in web usability and accessibility and have enormous respect for the work being done by some organisations and charities such as The Shaw Trust and the RNIB to make information and data accessible to people with disabilities - as is right.

Best of luck with the project and the books.
• Midia, that's fantastic news. Many congratulations.
• The first of my 'commandments' e-books is now available on Kindle.
This is 'Keep the Sabbath Holy: The Relevance of God's Commandment in Modern Society. The aim is to publish one per month until the series is complete.

The link is: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Keep-Sabbath-Holy-Commandments-ebook/dp/B007HOB4TI/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331082312&sr=8-1-spell#_

Any feedback will be much appreciated.

• That sounds like a useful series for those interested, Karen. Probably a good time of year with Easter not far off too. Looks very professionally produced.
• I was trying to find an appropriate word in Roget's Thesaurus the other day, when I found that a litter of kittens can be called a "kindle".
•
I was trying to find an appropriate word in Roget's Thesaurus the other day, when I found that a litter of kittens can be called a "kindle".
I don't want that sort of Kindle in my house, thank you!
• Well done to all you Kindlers!
• Oops - I know I've posted about it but had forgotten to add Cabaret of Dread; a Horror Compendium. Vol.1 here.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cabaret-Dread-Horror-Compendium-ebook/dp/B007KSVXQK

Any 'Likes' and tags are welcome. Thank you.
• Well done Daisy.
• I've added a 'like' for you, Lily.

Do the number of 'likes' boost the ratings significantly? If so, maybe we should all add to each others' listings.
• That's very kind KJ. Thank you.

As I understand it, yes the Likes do boost the rankings. I belong to a Kindle Horror Books group on Kindle and eight people 'Liked' and tagged my books (on Amazon.com) over a few hours on Sunday. I was refreshing the page every hour or so and it was shooting up the rankings 10,000 at a time, though a couple of people bought the book during this time too.

I always Like and tag TBers books if they are listed here. Anything to help!
• My book Tree Talk by Ana Salote, suitable 8 to adult - free to download from Amazon on 24th and 25th March.
• Just a reminder of my book of Egyptian recipes. I could do with somes likes etc thanks!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Taste-Egyptian-Cookery-ebook/dp/B005M94C58/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1315734114&sr=1-1
• It's amazing how just one or two sales can affect ratings! Yesterday my novel Losing Lucy was languishing at number 198500 in the paid kindle charts, then today one friend bought a copy and it leapt to number 43425 !!
• I didn't even know there were 'like' buttons and ratings! I've now gone back through this thread and liked all the books. I've also found out that my book is at number 32,117 and has 4 likes.
• My novel is now available on kindle. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Escape-To-The-Country-ebook/dp/B007OA1JHC?tag=creativebook-21
• Liked and tagged PM - good luck with sales!
• A leaner 'n' meaner second edition of my eBook is out...

MANCHESTER 6 (Six gritty crime stories).

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007ITA0GK

If you're not sure, I blogged about it here...

Ps. Likes and 'tag agreements' are most welcome! ;-)

I love your cover. Where did you get it done, or did you do it yourself?
• Girl Friday, I love the sound of your book; it's just up my street. I'm going to download it just as soon as I've finished the book I'm currently reading, a thriller by an unknown author I found on kindle. (Sorry I can't remember either the title or the author's name and I'm too lazy to go and get my kindle from upstairs!!)

In the meantime, here are the links to my kindle books, although as they are mostly children's fiction they will probably not be of much interest to you. The last two, however, are for adults: two very different collections of short stories.

As I am pasting so many links, I shan't include blurbs as well, but the children's books are all suitable for readers aged 7 - 12.
