• That's 36 talkbackers books 'liked'....
• I have a two books on Kindle - Living Cruelty Free (A guide to compassionate living) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Living-Cruelty-Free-Compassionate-ebook/dp/B0083ILV2M/ref=ntt_at_ep_edition_2_1
& Bullying A Parent's Guide http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bullying-Parents-Guide-Need2Know-ebook/dp/B009EVITR2/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpt_5 which has just been put on Kindle
(To be honest, I think the publisher has stopped trying to sell books, because I got a royalty statement in today showing -4 books sold for the paperback (Yep, sales were actually minus, which I think means bookshop returns). I wish I'd never given them ebook sales rights, as I think I could have sold the book better myself, but it was back in the days when there was no Kindle and if anyone had suggested ebooks, people would have howled with laughter.
Thankfully, my book with Greatest Guides is selling a lot better. The publisher is very professional and easy to deal with.
• My new novel for adults, 'Alexa's Song', is now available for Amazon Kindle, price £2.54. (First few chapters are free, so you can download a taster and see if you like it.)

Alexa wrote the song for Jake, but can it save him?

(This book is going to feature in a special blog for World Mental Health Day - more news soon.)
• My new novel, Leaving Gilead is now available from Smashwords:

Any help in spreading the word is much appreciated. Target audience: church homegroups, new christians, and people who are enquiring about Christianity.
Thanks everyone.

• My YA fantasy, Mark of the Dragon Queen is free from 24th-28th November. Don't be put off by the YA tag - lots of adults have enjoyed it, too!

Thanks, Rosemary.
•
That's good-recognition for all.
Thanks, Rosemary.
Oh, spill the beans.
• In the part that gives the information about the book, all the writers are listed together.
• Oh, that happened days ago. Come on radio star, keep up.
• It wasn't there last time I looked.
• Really? It happened on Thursday, if not before.
• I've just published two more books on Kindle:

A children's book called The Secret of Pooks Wood

~An adventure through time for readers aged 8 – 12

All children make mistakes, but what Bayonie did years before resulted in not one, but two tragic consequences.

When the twins, Lily and Ollie, are stranded at Great Hawkesden Manor over Christmas with their mother, Stella, they have no idea what will happen when they find an old glass snow globe.

Inside it not only is there a miniature model of the manor house, but there is magic.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Secret-Pooks-Wood-ebook/dp/B00AOP0PJM/ref=pd_ecc_rvi_2

And a collection of funny poetry for adults called A Bellyful of Laughs

~Life getting you down?

Cheer yourself up with this collection of endorphin-inducing, some may say, 'hilarious' poetry. Some may not.

Yes, step aside, Pam Ayres. There’s a new kid on the block . . .

Warning: those with a weak heart should refrain from indulging in such frivolity.

That makes a grand total of 12 books!

My book's a collection of short stories - I've not put it on Amazon (yet?), but it's available via Smashwords in Kindle-compatible format, as well as ePub files and the like for other e-readers. Almost all the stories are previously published, and/or have won prizes or been shortlisted in various competitions. It's available for the bargain price of $1.55, which should work out at less than a quid.

http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/262944

Here's the blurb:

Somewhere to Start From: In this anthology of twenty-two short stories, some published, some prizewinning, and some making their first appearance in print, an eclectic host of characters discover no matter where life takes them, it’s only ever somewhere to start from.

Here are stories of redemption, revenge, and unrequited love. Relationships fail, new ones are kindled, existing ones shift and change. There are stories about gods, monsters, angels, robots, hellish hotels, body-builders and body-snatchers, and ordinary people just doing whatever they can to get by.

The collection includes stories published in print and online, in Writers' Forum and on The Guardian website, and stories that have won prizes or been shortlisted in a variety of competitions, including the H.E. Bates Short Story Competition, Brighton Community of Writers (COW), TxtLit, and The James White Award.
• Both of mine which I recently published on Smashwords are now also on Kindle

Leaving Gilead is here:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00AMNB39C

And Bunderlin is here:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00AN273E6
• Good luck, you guys. I have downloaded some of these and will get round to the rest of them in time.
• My zombie novel is out on Kindle http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dead-Bastards-ebook/dp/B00AM0OI0G/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1358106974&sr=1-1 My parents were not happy about the title using the B word:)
• Congratulations JT. I'll download it when I'm next on.

...and good luck!

If the b word adds atmosphere, you have to use it. Writers' prerogative.
• Any title with a B word in it is has to be read - it's next on my list.

Just finishing Blackfeather's and then I need to do some 'proper' reading before I get to do some more fun stuff.
• Ooooh-er, I think I'm gonna have a go at this Publish on Kindle malarkey...
• Although it's not 'officially' launched until tomorrow, A Year and a Day is now available.

Out of interest, what does anyone think, if you have self-pubbed on Kindle and you subsequently sell your idea to an agent, does that cause a problem for them? Is it easy to unpublish from Kindle and then you would have a new edition going up later (because presumably if your agent sold it into a paper-publishing house, there would be a complete redesign anyway, including new cover)?

Has anyone had to deal with this situation?
• edited January 2013
It depends on the publisher/agent. Some do take already published books, but not many. Mine doesn't. People might buy the same book twice by mistake. Try agents and publishers first if you'd like to use that route.

I'm reading your other book PM, really enjoying it, and that's a great cover on your new book!

And if people don't mind me putting this up for those who like romance.

• 'Anyone For Murder' http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Maggie+Cobbett is my first venture into the world of e-publishing and is selling quite well, although I'd appreciate more reviews. Amusingly, if just my name is put into Amazon, I find myself sharing a page with one of my husband's distant ancestors!

I don't know how often self published books get picked up by agents or publishers, but it does happen (you may have heard of a trilogy called 50 Shades of Grey) It doesn't seem to be a problem.

Glad people like the cover. It's my husband's work.
• Well done Mr Phots Moll! The cover of mine was designed by Master Montholon. Where would we be without our supportive families!
• Just published my first e-book.

My ebook How to Solve Cryptic Crosswords (by Vivien Hampshire) has gone to the number 1 slot today in the Kindle listings for crossword books! That means people are buying, which is great as the paperback version is now being prepared for publication in May.

• Well done, Viv.

And Ana s too.

• Here's mine: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Secrets-Lies-Vodka-Parties-ebook/dp/B00AZ00PJQ

Secrets, Lies & Vodka Parties
Poppy sleeps with her boss for a promotion, and then finds out her mum's having an affair with him. Daisy's husband thinks she's a punch bag, and Colin has to tell his homophobic parents he's gay.
A heart-warming story about three twenty-something's trying to make sense of life.
• I've just given yours a like, Jenni.
• Will go and take a look at both of these. And I'm hopeless at crosswords, so that could be useful!
