Yep, as much as I like to have fun on here, I do need to earn a living and DACS and ALCS provide nice little bonuses for me - and everyone else who qualifies.

Can't remember who it was first mentioned DACS here but grateful thanks to whoever it was. I have just received notification of my payment and I am pleasantly surprised. Well worth registering if you use your own photos or illustrations for work.

I used a few photos of my powder compacts for an article in Best of British, do they count? Also a photo of my family in one on family tree research in The Family Tree mag,a few years ago now though.

The Best of British article would count as it's a UK magazine.

The website tells you what qualifies: http://www.dacs.org.uk/for-artists
though you will have to do the application next year- I think they have a set time period from about June (?)

Yes.

You have to register within a set time - but you can 'register an interest' now and they will contact you nearer the time.

I haven't used many of my own photos to illustrate my articles - but it's still a nice amount to receive.

Best of British definitely counts. Once you have listed an item it remains in the system for the future, too. I think it is July to October the listing time.
