Newbie- competition turnaround times

Hi all, Having received a subscription to Writing mag for Christmas and finally plucked up the courage to enter a competition, I was wondering if someone could let me know what happens once you have subbed your entry. Will you only find out the winner and runners up etc in the mag or is there a notification beforehand on the website? Also, what is the turnaround time of the comps from the closing date to notification of winners? Thanks

    Winners are usually advised within about a month of the closing date, although you are not supposed to resubmit elsewhere until 2 months have passed. Those shortlisted only find out when the results are published in the magazine - about four or five months after the closing date usually.
