Calling all poets and anyone who would like to write a poem for National Poetry Day, which this year is on October 6th. The theme is messages.
In my role as National Poetry Day Ambassador, I am asking people to send message poems to the planet, an animal, a rainforest, a flower, a declining habitat, the ocean - or a message from the planet or animal to a human, or to the world, or to anything, anyone else.
The poem can be in any form, it can be an apology, an explanation, a song, a lament, a celebration, a love poem - the only definite criterium is it has to be a message!
Please send your poem to
[email protected]It will go on the website below and it will be tweeted. Best poem gets a prize:

This one's fine and so is the above one, now - I put in a www before and presumably that was taking us somewhere else.
I'll have a proper look later. Thanks.
If anything is unclear please tell me. I've been working on it this morning and it's all different again, now...!

Poem emailed to Liz. Sorry that I couldn't write about 'stables' as suggested in Liz's 10.19am post. I'm not much of a horsey person!! )

If anyone else sends one, please make sure it's on Word and with contact details, thanks!
Liz - why aren't you trumpeting this on the Blog Updates thread? It deserves to be read far and wide.
So get writing if you are going to enter!
