News of a literature festival in Morley, near Leeds, arrived too late for us to publicise in Writers News.
Taking place 29-30 September, at venues including Morley Town Hall and Morley Library, the festival features appearances from Barnsley poet Ian McMillan (29 September, 7.30pm) and Gervase Phinn (30 September, 7.30pm), which both have tickets for £2, and free readings and workshops with writers including John Welding, Stephen Waterhouse, Gary Kaye, Jo Collins, Emma Barnes and Rebecca L Royle.
Tickets are available in the towns Queen Street from the Observer & Advertiser offices, Althams Travel, Cuchinas and Manning Stainton.
By an odd coincidence, my work took me to Morley this week for the first time ever. Now that I know where it is - very easily accessible from Leeds - I might try to attend some of the events.
