... has been awarded to my short story 'Keeping it in the Family' in the Countryside Tales 'Country Story' competition. I confess that this is the eleventh outing for this story, whittled and turned and cut back again and again and again. It seems that last edit did the trick! I get some money and the story gets published in the summer edition of Countryside Tales. I haven't actually won a competition for 10 years so this is a very great pleasure for me.

congratulations!!!
No. Not gin. Doh! :)
Just goes to show, the old ones are always the best. :)
Nah not really. You've done well to rewrite it to such a high standard. Well done.
There's something very satisfying about finally succeeding with an 'oldie', isn't there?
And it proves that even a rejected story can be turned around and win through.
I had something prepared but couldn't get it quite right before the deadline.
Really pleased for you.
