Who's in May 2013's Writing Magazines?

edited March 2013 in - WM and WN
Who’s in May 2013's magazine? The magazines probably won’t be in the shops until (?) so DON’T EXPECT THEM UNTIL THEN.

If you spot yourself, please let us know which magazine and WHICH PAGE; and the name the article appears under if it differs from your Talkback name. If you spot someone else, PLEASE LET THEM post the details here.

Remember: if mentioning a story, don’t give away the ending.

• Mine has just arrived an hour ago. Not had a chance to look at it yet.
• I got mine this morning. I have quickly looked at it.

May? MAY? I notice that WF have stopped putting a month on their magazine, you know; otherwise I expect they'd be into their July edition by now.
I'll have to sit under the postbox again and stick a foot out as the little yellow van tries to sneak by. (Such a cheery colour for a post van.)
• You've got it already? Wow, early! Still, hope it gives you time for a nice relaxing read over Easter weekend.
• *twiddle thumbs*
• *twiddles toes*
• *Laments that there is now no post until Saturday*
• Didn't come! Hopefully Saturday...
•
twiddle thumbs*

*twiddles toes*
*Looks for something to twiddle*
• *twiddles bag of empty snail shells*
• *twiddles a chipolata*

hey, where did that come from?
• *sees chipolata stand to attention*

Dunno.
• Mmmmmm...

*bites end off roasty, crispy chipolata*
• "stares"
• *winces*

My magazine hasn't arrived.

:(
• *waddles over to join in the twaddle*

Mine neither.

Something to look forward to on Saturday.
• Mine never does.

oh hang on, I don't subscribe anymore. Maybe that has something to do with it?
• *ponders*

That could be it.
• *Peers in to thread*

*Observes TB Coven in conclave*

*exits, tap-dancing*
• *squeezes feet into size two tap shoes kept from childhood and joins in with a time step in the kitchen*
• *hears taps, dancing*
• Lechyd da, Blodders
• Diolch yn fawr, sm
• *wonders how long it will be before Carol shouts at us*
• So, for those like John and PBW who got their copy yesterday- did you see any familiar names this month?

(Note: I'm trying to restore sanity to this thread...:))
• So, Writing Magazine . . .

*coughs*
•
Observes TB Coven in conclave*

Hubble, bubble...

Yes, indeed. One giant article but the writer hasn't posted here yet & also I think some of the poetry people, but I can't always put the real names to the TB handles.
• ble mae'r toiled?
• A very useful phrase, sm.

One that I imagine you might need a lot.
• Pasg hapus!
• Which competition results are in this month?

Always like to check the shortlists, though I don't enter very many WM comps these days.
• How kind.

But stop now, sm.

STOP, I SAY!!!
•
Which competition results are in this month?
Good question, Heather.

I'd like to know so that I can check if I entered them.
• Mae fy hofrenfad yn llawn llyswennod

As you can see, I have an emergency.

*exits*
• *falls off chair and rolls around on floor*

snailmale, you are an absolute hoot and a half :D
• *wonders where the hovercraft is headed*

• That rolling head's clever, though a little sinister.

One of Henry Viii's wives?

Horrible.

I've no idea what you lot are talking about, anyway. I only know...and I can't even spell it, so I'll stop there. :)
• I'm leaving this thread before Carol gets back...
•
So, for those like John and PBW who got their copy yesterday- did you see any familiar names this month?
Does that count the title 'Writing Magazine' 'cos if so, then yes, I saw a familiar name the magazine I haven't got.
•
I'm leaving this thread before Carol gets back...
*follows trail of slime*
• *shakes head and picks up WF to read in the meantime*
• Montholon is in there this month. Well done to her!
• Excellent news!

*wonders if Carol realises her thread is back on track*
• Just got my mag, there is no shortlist again for the nostalgia poetry comp is there?
• My WN arrived at 9.30 am. I was really looking forward to indulging in my favourite occupation of 'I really must try that' when reading all those encouraging articles. But as usual the domestic fairy hasn't turned up so someone (guess who) has things to do.
OK, I thought I'll get stuck in reading it tonight; but OH has decided that as is there nothing at all to watch on TV tonight we will have a games night. Now usually board games wins over TV any time..... but NOT when I have my lovely mag to read!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am the only one who is so selfish when WN pops through the letter box?
I have already looked at Stuart Aken's (Letters p.8) offering of names to download, thanks Steven. I echo his comments of other writers being willing to share info etc.
Also thanks to Wendy Clarke last month with her very useful timeline.
