• My wordpress account is pretty good at weeding out spam, but I do like to have a look at what's coming in. My favourite are the generic comments that praise your posts while saying absolutely nothing about the subject (apart from giving a spamming link!). Here's the latest:

"I'm impressed, I have to say. Really not often do I encounter a blog that's both educative and entertaining, and let me inform you, you will have hit the nail on the head. Your thought is outstanding; the difficulty is something that not enough people are talking intelligently about. I am very completely happy that I stumbled across this in my search for one thing regarding this."
• See what you mean - that person has no idea what you're blogging about.

I don't get any spam - well, I had a message in what I think was Chinese once and one trying to sell me viagra but that's it in over a year of blogging.
• At least the message was complimentary - about nothing in particular!!
• I've been spammed by a man in Finland, I mean in Finnish (is that what they speak up there?). I couldn't translate it, so don't know, don't care.
• Run it through a translator! On the other hand, perhaps you have a life. Unlike me.
• "Hi! I am Humberga.
It would be my pleasure to present to you a way to make $55-$110 per HOUR starting in seconds.
This method does NOT include Affiliate marketing online, MLMs, Pay-per-click or SEO, or list farming!
Im going to show you all you need to find out about me, how I got where I am, and about my money getting script
that sucked in over $357,000 last August in just a couple of minutes.

Right now you have absolutely NO idea how close you are to making a genuine fulltime salary on the net."

Wow, that sounds amazing! Can't wait to make all that dosh!

I feel a bit deprived not getting any Blog spam, but then again...;)
• Carol, I'll spam yours if you spam mine!
•
I've been spammed by a man in Finland
Really?

Oh, sorry, I misread that.

Thought you'd written "spannered"
• Very few bits of spam- that go into my e-mail junk box- are amusing.
• I have received one (in my junk box) so hilarious...I obviously spoke to soon 3 days ago...
The sending address was @fib.org :D

( From) Federal Bureau of Investigation Counter-terrorism Division and Cyber Crime Division J. Edgar. Hoover Building Washington DC
Attention Beneficiary,
Records show that you are among one of the individuals and organizations who are yet to receive their overdue payment from overseas which includes those of Lottery/Gambling, Contract and Inheritance. Through our Fraud Monitory Unit we have also noticed that over the past you have been transacting with some imposters and fraudsters who have been impersonating the likes of...
(long list of names that I've not put down here but include names of people supposed to work for FED-EX and HSBC among others).

Later on- it is a long e-mail)

Once again we are so sure of you receiving your payment at no any other cost as we have taking it upon our duty to monitor everything in other to cub cyber crime that is perpetrated by those impostors.
Thanks and hope to read from you soon.

(Then to make it sound really genuine)

Note: Disregard any email you get from any impostors or offices claiming to be in possession of your ATM card, you are hereby advice only to be in contact with Dr. T** B**** (I've added the *) of the ATM card center who is the rightful person to deal with in regards to your payment and forward any emails you get from impostors to this office via the above fax number so we could act upon it immediately. Help stop cyber crime.

Totally unbelievable...:D
• There's a programme on ITV tonight at 7.30 about the security of the UK's computer networks.

Worrying if you have a computer or use CHIP and PIN.
• That's brilliant, Carol! Not seen one like that before. I like the note at the end!
• The note at the end was the corker.

Just received one from a
Rev. Mr. John Smith (sic) entitled

THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED YOUR FUND
• You can always trust a Rev...
• I've one that says: Hello. And Bye.

Very annoying. No link, so don't know what they're hoping to get out of it.

The ones that seem to be humans (because they know what's inthe post) but then sign off with "penis enlargement", has me laughing every time!
• Wow - listen to this!

"We really need internet writers badly. After looking over this article, we decided we want you on our team. We pay $35-$50 hourly. Our prime writers are pulling in over $90 THOUSAND a YEAR, writing part time.
Please stop by and see us."

I can't believe they noticed my writing, even distinguishing it as 'this article'!!!
• Amazing pay rate...;)
• Must admit, I was quite surprised to read

"Lower my Balls"

in my spam box,

but on a second glance, noticed it said "Lower my Bills"
• After a lot of deliberation, I have at last today started a blog and then found this post! I never imagined that there would be spam on people's blogs, as well as on email. We had a blog of our travels, but that is restricted and never had any spam.
We have recently had a suspect 'phone call purporting to come from 'Virgin', saying one of our computers had a virus - we knew it was spam. (My blog is 'So little time')
• Here's my latest "comment":

Love your blog! And I wanted to personally invite you to be one of the top shopping Advisors on ShopSquad, a free shopping advice website where shoppers and your readers can ask Advisors (i.e. you!) for advice.

If you recommend something that is purchased, from games to consoles to handhelds, you get a percentage of the sale. You're already sharing your expertise through your blog, so why not earn more money for it? You can also earn $5 for each of your readers who signs up.
• I had a spam e-mail arrive in the inbox for the e-mail address I set up for my blog, that address only appears on the blog, nowhere else, and it has the substituted (AT) for the @ symbol.

So it isn't just bots that trawl the web for addresses.
• I've had one from a (somebody) Arafat.

Looks like it was a good job they dug him up recently, so he could get back to check his emails.
•
Thought you'd written "spannered"
I might laugh if I knew what that meant - knowing dora it's probably rude :)
• How very dare you, Lizy. :)

Why not laff anyway? Life's too short not to.
•
How very dare you, Lizy.
It's Friday - Friday is my day to be bold and adventurous.
I had a can of ginger beer earlier too.
• :)

Ooh, you devil, young Lizy.
•
I had a can of ginger beer earlier too.
Lashings of . . .?

You're a wild 'un, Lizy Young!
• Just had this through today, an email with a subject heading of ....

Compliment Of The Day Dear,

:D

Jeeeeesh, some of these people who send these emails should do stand up, they'd be minted if they did.
• This one made me smile:

An outstanding share! I’ve just forwarded this onto a colleague who has been doing a little research on this. And he in fact ordered me breakfast simply because I stumbled upon it for him… lol. So let me reword this…. Thanks for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending time to talk about this subject here on your web page.

So vague! But at least they made the effor to make it sound like a real comment!
• Was that followed by a link?
• I feel quite left out because I dont get any of this. Such spoilsports.
• I don't get the really entertaining stuff either...
•
Was that followed by a link?
Not in the comment but when you look at who sent it the web address is there; I think they are relying on your curiosity to click back and see who it was.
• Received a mail from a 'mrthomas' (that's how they sent it)

This is the subject:

Call him immediately to give you Question and Answer Contact Person. Mr Olele Collins ,

I mean, as if anyone will stop what they're doing and call some stranger immediately!
These people really are bonkers.
• You mean you didn't call him? How could you resist!
• Recent spam:

What i do not understood is if truth be told how you
are not really much more well-favored than you may be now.
You’re so intelligent. You recognize thus significantly relating to this subject, made me for my part consider it from a lot of various angles. Its like men and women aren’t interested unless it’s something to do with Girl gaga! Your personal stuffs nice. Always take care of it up!

-----------------------
Personally I don't like Girl gaga. She's over-rated.
• We requested an upstairs lane. The first four lanes downstairs were too on display for my taste. A window runs the length of those lanes. It’s a great visual and living advertisement from the outside, but I don’t need passers-by gawking at my poor form. In addition, an interior walkway along aisle 4 leads swingman jersey to the restrooms, which is distracting, and it’s awkward for, shall we say, the users.

------------------

What are these spammers on? Something a bit stronger than Spam, it seems.
• Pfft.

Odd.
• Personally I'm not interested in anything unless it's to do with girl Gaga!

I wonder whether the spammers are using Google Translate (Lady Gaga)?
• A lot of thanks for all your work on this site. My mum delights in going through research and it's easy to understand why. A number of us notice all of the compelling tactic you give rewarding things on the web site and even attract response from people on the content and my princess is now studying a great deal.
