Does anyone know any books similar to Hitchhikers Guide? Humorous fantasy but not Discworld.

Comments

  • Space Captain Smith is humorous sf.

    Neil Gaiman?
Mr Bear says the early pre-Discworld Pratchetts - Dark Side of the Sun, for example.
  • I'm sure you've read/heard of them, but what about the Dirk Gently novels by Adams?

    - Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency
    - The Long Dark Tea-time of the Soul

Also the Red Dwarf novels are pretty good.

Anything Tom Holt is worth a read - some very good stuff there.

Piers Anthony has done some corkers as well :)
  • Perfect. Thanks all.
  • Oh yes agree, Red Dwarf and Tom Holt are great.

God! I'd forgotten about Piers Anthony... used to love his stuff!
  • The name rings a bell... I'm sure I must have read him.

Well now I'm curious. You sensitively picked up on your wife's craving for tea towels. What would you like in your stocking?

  • Is it fishnet?
  • You want fish?

At this stage, all I am trying to do is ascertain the type of stocking involved.
