Books for children on writing?
My nephew is 10, and when I saw him over Christmas, he was writing a story in his journal. I asked him if he liked writing stories and he said yes. Naturally wanting to encourage him, it gave me the idea for his 11th birthday (which admittedly isn't until the summer) of giving him a book on writing. I looked on Amazon, and whilst there is a superabundance of books for adults on the subject, I couldn't find anything for children. Does anyone know of a book that teaches the basics of plotting, characterisation and the like in language appropriate for a bright 11-year-old? If not, I might have to write one!

It says it's for teens, but 11 should be old enough.
I also have various other Key stage 2 English books which have similar sections in them. Go into Smiths and have a look at their English books for Key Stage 2 and lower secondary
