Hi People,
I'd like to ask for a bit of advice. I guess most of you have your own websites. Well, I'm about to set up mine. Nothing very big, I'd put my short stories there and I might have a little blog section.
So my questions:
Which hosting company do you use?
Do you use the host's website builder or some software?
Thanks

I don't have a website yet, but I do have a blog. So I don't have any answers to your questions, though I suspect your second question might depend on how techie capable you are.
My website (set up professionally) is Wordpress and so is my blog (done by me).
Website: http://www.poetlizbrownlee.co.uk
Blog: http://www.lizbrownleepoet.com
The things about Wordpress is it is easy to use (if you haven't used Blogger and aren't 'in' to that way of doing things). It looks professional and you can make your website look different from everyone else's easily - Blogger sites all look the same to my eyes.
Google LOVES Wordpress and it is easy for any of your posts to get seen.
It does everything I'd want from a website, doesn't cost me anything, is easy to use and I can instantly update it as often as I like.

I'd be very wary about using the design software provided by most other hosting services. If you ever want to move away from them in future (for example when they ramp up the price as they tend to do) it can make things quite tricky.
I use wordpress for blogs - great for that - don't blog a lot too busy working and would rather write my stories than blog loads.
hope that helps...
and the other one is just http://who.is/
This is an example of a completely free Wix website, Balazs.
