PM that is excellent advice but many only appreciate how important this is after work has been lost. I also take photos to accompany articles and if anything I am even more paranoid about storing multiple versions of those than my words which are probably more easily replicated.
In addition to recently getting back into writing after a break I have started up my blog again, often linked to writing although not exclusively. After filling in at our WI with a talk on writing when a speaker cried off last minute I mentioned people writing down their own personal stories. When none had started six months later I was asked to give some ideas for getting started. A one-off I thought but they have other ideas so now scratching my head for new ways into recording personal anecdotes for non-writers. Anyway, the blog link is here.
A lovely gentle read, Wordy. I was eating blackberries the other day, and this morning saw another stash growing next to an Elder, full of berries, I like eating handfuls from the tree. I'm sure in days gone by such a harvest would not have been over looked, so, I'm going to pick both fruits tomorrow and make a tart. There is also a lovely crab apple bush near by, they aren't too sharp, they might go in the mix, also.
C2 thanks for your comments. Love blackberrying. You ca make crab apple jelly, too, so if you have a good source why not give it a try. The kitchen smells wonderful this time of year.
Sallyj, that is a useful list and one I will bookmark. Thanks for sharing. Now if only it had included "interesting"... a word I am tempted to use all the time and can cover a multitude of sins.
I was planning to kick start my blog in October, but I'm going to be in Spain and I know that at least one of the places where I'll be staying doesn't have internet, so I'll probably wait until November now.
Could you do posts and schedule them, Claudia? If people visit a blog a couple of times and see it hasn't been updated they tend to give up, thinking that's what the blogger has done - or maybe that's just me?

I could schedule some posts, PM, but I find that if I don't follow up and do the rounds by commenting on other peoples' blogs, they don't visit mine. This is what I find so time consuming and frustrating about the blogging world. My latest post clearly explains that I'm taking a break, so anyone who happens upon it knows that I haven't simply abandoned the blog.
How do you setup a blog? I am thinking about blogging about my local environment, the habitat and what it supports.
I'll leave the experts to help you C2. You can choose blogger or wordpress. Personally I found blogger easier to negotiate, but others prefer wordpress.
This was an interesting experiment for me because I've never tried to write a story to a photo prompt in such a short space of time - so apologies if it's a bit 'raw'!

Can't get your link to appear on the screen, TN
How differently we see things, looks like a Viking helmet to me.
A very interesting story, Dr TN
