  • I don't know what I'd have done down the years without my memory bank of poems - mentally reciting the whole of The Tale of Custard the Dragon (Ogden Nash) and other favourites has got me through dental treatment, traffic jams, take-off and many other necessary evils - the act of reciting seems to calm fear and frustration somehow.
  • Distraction - in its positive sense?
