I've just received an email from my tutor; if anyone is interested there is a radio dramatisation of Sunset Song (Lewis Grassic Gibbon) on Radio 4 this afternoon (16/3/09).

    I enjoyed it - haven't read the book yet (think I'll keep it for my mid-semester break.)

    I reads like gobbledegook, Stirling (even to locals) - but it's wonderful, hope you enjoy it. If you come across his short story 'Smeddum', it's just as good.

    It's written in 'artificial' Scots I think rather than a true phonetic Scots dialect I believe. Enjoyed the play - even though it gave the soaps a run for the amount of action sequences!
