  • Can you really judge 16th century writing by modern day "standards"?
  • Of course not.
    I think he'd be in the Tower if HM was still in charge...;)
  • I was surprised at him as an historian judging a man who lived 500 years ago by 21st century values. Although I found an almost sexist (maybe homophobic?) undertone to his comments.
  • Glad it wasn't just me who thought he came over a little...peeved, and even jealous!
  • And he is comparing Henry VIII's handwriting to how many other people's from that time?

    Not all that many people would have been able to write much anyway.

  • Pity we didn't get a section of handwriting to look at - there is so much more that graphology can suggest. I always used to enjoy reading hand written job applications - you could tell so much more than from a typed document.
