  • The Picture of Dorian Gray is about 150 pages long. I wonder where the writer of the article is drawing the line between novel and novella.
  • I was always sad of the account of Anna Sewell..she was very ill indeed dying while writing Black Beauty. Her mother actually had to write some of it, as in Anna narrating it to her, to write down. I don't know what she'd have thought of the sequels other authors wrote to cash in on her success...Son of Black Beauty was quite enjoyable, but Black Beauty's Family frankly bored me stiff.
  • I don't think Margaret Mitchel could have produced another book that wouldn't have looked poor alongside Gone With the Wind.
  • But someone else has written a sequel.
  • I TRIED READING IT!
    'tried' being the operative word.
