Markets for pocket novels?

edited November 2010 in - Resources
I seem to be getting quite enthusiastic about writing 30,000 word pocket novels aimed at My Weekly (they're not quite PF material).

But, if My Weekly reject them, is there anywhere else which would consider publishing them? Obviously the word count is far too low for a normal novel but too high for a short story, even a WW serial.

Thanks,

Girl Friday

  • As e-books or try the companies that publish for libraries.
But hopefully if they are rejected you might be able to work out why.
  • You could blog Sally Quilford, she writes a few of these - I've a feeling someone like Robert Hale (speak to Rosalie about that) might take on that sort of thing
  • She has a page on her blog that is her posts on Pocket Novels.
  • Yes my mind has finally gone. I read this title as Meerkats for pocket novels. Obviously because we were discussing the critters earlier. The strange thing was even though I read 'Meerkats for pocket novels'. My mind thought a market for novels for meerkat pockets??? That's how I'm rolling tonight.
  • Do you think you should take more water with it ST?
