Sixth Form Short Story Competition

This just came through - too late for print as deadline is 1 April.
The Sixth Form Short Story Competition is open to everyone in sixth form education (years 12-13) as well to sixth form colleges in London.There is no set theme.
Entries will be judged by novelists Michael Arditti (winner of the Oppenheim-John Downes Memorial Award), Marika Cobbold (writer of Guppies For Tea, short-listed for The Sunday Express Book of the Year) and journalists Jane May (book editor for the Daily Mail) and Nicholas Clee (critic ,writer for and ex-editor of The Bookseller). Prizes for 1st and 2nd winners will include signed copies of Marika Cobbold's and Michael Arditti's books for the 2nd prize, and for the 1st prize the winner will receive alongside copies of Cobbold's books, one of her favourite books on writing: Bird By Bird By Anne Lamott.They will also get to meet the author for coffee where she will give the winner advice about writing, to be arranged at their convenience.
Entries must be:
- in English
- double-spaced
- in a normal font size (12 point is fine)
- No longer than 3,000 words (no minimum word count).
- The final draft (we can't accept revisions).
E-mailed to [email protected] as a word doc attachment with story title, age, name, school attending, subjects studying.
Deadline: 1st April.
