Phyllida Scrivens, Chairwoman addressed the NWC last night. 'Escaping Hitler' was the subject of her talk, and is the title of her, recently, published book. She told us how she befriended, Gunther alias Jo, whilst working at UEA, and, was so fascinated by the story of his escape that she invited him to be the subject a book.
He planned his escape as a child, and, bravely, traveled to Belgium alone, but his journey to safety was impeded. Beautiful little book, full of irresistible detail, and loads of images.
