  • I'm so happy.  i have finished my 2nd assignment for the writers bureau course and i've just e-mailed it for marking!  It has taken months and months and i couldn't have found the strenght to finish it if it wasn't for all you talkbackers.  Thanks to all of you who have offered your help and encoragement.  please join me now in virtual champage and chocolate!
  • I raise a glass, and toast you in your continued perseverance.  My 2nd assignment will be winging its way to Writing Magazine's fiction course tutors this weekend.  Hope you receive due praise and constructive criticism!
  • Thank you.  I hope you also have some good feedback.  It's alittle scary, i have just sent it off and there is no going back! Do you find your writing course fulfilling?
  • congratulations! keep it going! Get busy get busy!
  • dorothy your right of course.  the danger now is to sit back and rest on your laurels.
  • Well done!
  • Brill.  Keep it going!
  • Well done - you can do it you know!  Have faith in yourself.
  • Amanda, I'm a total n00b at this so I find the whole process of writing extremely stimulating.  I'm a terrible procrastinator but I am finding time to write and plot and devise characters (even though they keep doing things of their own accord, not what is in my mind! Don't know how the Hell that works!)
  • twh, i seriously know what you mean.  i have a couple of characters who have now gone down the pub and i seriously didnt ask them to do that! i dont know how that happened at all!
  • I got my second assignment from WB back a few weeks ago and now find I am truly stuck for the 3rd assignment. The feedback for the second was more than encouraging - so much so that I think I have panicked and can no longer write anything at all. Most depressing. But so far it's been non-fiction; I have a lovely tutor called Nicola who specialises in nonfiction articles.
Hope I shall snap out of the lethargic enertia soon.
But it is 'summertime and the livin' is easy.' :)
  • Amanda - Be careful or you'll find they're writing the book and you're just a character in it!
  • Great news Amanda!
  • That must have been done, Jenny; a character steps over to the author's desk, barges him/her aside and starts writing the author's life....
  • Well done, I'm sure it will get easier as you go along and get more used to the techniques and get the skills under your belt. Keep on keeping on.
  • Well done Amanda, keep it going.
Clarissa, perjhaps there is something in your inertia that can be useful.
  • Howard: Jostein Gaarder specialises in that particular plot. <Spoiler alert> it happens in both "Sophie's World" and "Maya".
  • Well done Amanda, keep it up!
  • thanks!  i've even made a start on assignment 3.  i must be on a roll!  i now have the god of thunder peed out of his scull under the table of the 'ye olde gode inne'. it started out as an older childrens tale but he is rather 'adult' and i'm not too sure that his behaviour is entirely suitable!  he is making me cross because his dinner is on the table and obviously its going to be fed to the dog if he doesnt go home soon - but you just cant tell some people.
