  • A few pertinent things were said in the awards ceremony (shown on BBC this evening.)
    One of the drama awards, the woman who did the speech, said that in drama the important thing was 'the script, the script, the script.'
    And the annual fellowship went to Richard Curtis, a writer first among other things.
    Most of us will never reach these heights. But the actors would not being getting the awards without the words of the writers who penned them.

  • And in Victoria Wood's case, she was the writer AND the actress in Housewife,49. Two Baftas, one for when she is wearing each hat!! Now that is an achievement. But I agree, I would rather win an award for writing something brilliant than just for acting out someone else's words/idea.
