short story synopsis

  • I have completed a short story where there is a specific requirement for a 100-150 word synopsis to be submitted also.  Would you believe I had more trouble with the synopsis, my first attempt summed it all up in 53 words.  It got me wondering if the story I've written is feeble and therefore there's not much to say about it or is it just that I'm brilliant at precis?  Guess I'll have my answer when the big bad rejection plops onto my doormat.  I feel happy enough with my effort so I shall believe in my gut instinct.  I'm off to the postbox before I change my mind...
  • Don't most people say the synopsis is harder than the novel/story itself!!!
  • Good luck on a positive response.
  • the synopsis is much harder than the work.  Believe me ... and good luck!
  • Thank you Carol and Dorothy - response time up to six months - I'll let you know!
