Some years ago a major publisher declined my book, a hurtful and major blow to my confidence. I eventually published the book myself and now that same publisher SELLS my book on its website and, moreover, describes it thus:
"An engrossing collage of historic and contemporary documents, photographs, official reports and vivid personal testimonies, the result is a definitive history of women in the railway industry."
Can anyone beat that for a "sticking-two-fingers-up-at-them" story?
There is no need to be nasty, they ought to be diplomatic. What, exactly did they say? When I got my stream of rejections, they said there was no market for the book. Also, feminist publishers suggested taking it to a railway publisher and railway publishers directed me to the feminist press. LOL.
