    Thank you everyone. I have to admit, it's not a genre I usually write. Horror is not my scene but still.... It was the idea of writing flash fiction that appealed - inspired by Jay. See what he spawned!

    I have also submitted a short story to AlienSkin, about three weeks ago, but no reply yet. How long did it take for them to accept/reply to you?

    I liked your story by the way. Have you thought about submissions for Interzone/Third Alternative etc?

    Just noticed my spelling of fiction. It's a wonder I ever got anything accepted!!
    It took Alienskin two days to reply but I think they were looking especially for flash fiction. Typically, the day after they'd accepted, I had another acceptance from a site I'd given up on hearing from. I just hit the market at the right time. Duotropes Digest - suggested by Jay a few weeks ago, has a great list of possible sites and also gives response times.
