Wrote something and sent it off way back in March 2007 after seeing a "Market" thingy in Writers News. Did anyone else get anywhere with this? I got an e-mail last week telling me my contribution is going in the book. Yippee!
I`d almost forgotten I`d written it and didn`t think I`d ever hear anything. Just goes to show: patience pays..

Kateyanne, they said they were looking for "advice in story form written or told by senior citizens about challenges they faced and how they came through it". So I just summed up, in a humorous way, all the strange job experiences I`ve had during the past 25 years, none of which I had any training for or experience of, but which I got done, simply by rolling up my sleeves and getting on with it, asking for and accepting advice and help, and using my gumption. Or, as they say, "learning by doing". Obviously what they were looking for. They say they had 1200 entries. Didn`t any other Talkbacker try his/her luck?
