First Time

I have worked really hard on my writing over the last year, sent off loads of stuff and had nothing but rejections.

Just checked in my mail box and found a message to say that I have sold a story, not much money but its a start.

Isn't the first one always the sweetest - floating on air at the moment.

Hi Viv - It's called Every Day Fiction, the pay isn't much but it's a start and at least it will look good on a CV.

I keep a database on all my subbs, it felt great tonight adding 'sold' against the story instead of the usual 'rejection'

Well done, Niddy. The cheque will be nice (photocopy and frame if you wish, nobody will think you mad) spending cheque will be nice ... and what's even better is seeing your story with your name on and knowing that LOTS of people will read it and it was ALL YOURS. Some mags send free copies, some don't - make sure you know when your story is to be published so you don't miss it! And then tell us so we can all go and buy it and read it.
