Aravind Adiga and 'The White Tiger'. A first time novelist! Great stuff!

    The One Show did their own selection panel of viewers- it was shown on last night's show- they chose that book too.

    Horray I say the One Show too and was pretty sure the White Tiger wud get it after that. I know must read it.

    I have just read it.
    It took nearly half the book to get to a 'take-off' point. I do wonder if I've just misunderstood it, though. As a social commentary it is scary - and I suspect from the name of the author that he knows what he's talking about, which makes it even more scary. It made me think about the real meaning of the word 'slavery'.
    In the end I didn't enjoy it, but it has made me think a lot, which is just as good a reason as enjoyment.
