Good news and bad news - writing style!

Friday was the deadline for me to hear about whether or not my second short film had been shortlisted for production. No phone call - bad news :( Saturday morning at a screenwriting workshop a couple of people were saying they'd received 'the call' and were in. Went home depressed to find two letters on the mat - one a rejection for another film proposal, the other a rejection for a playwrighting scheme. Ho hum, is it too early to drink? Fast forward 24 hours and a lot of tears and I finally find my missing mobile phone charger, plug it in and get some juice into ye olde battery. Lo and behold there's a message from the film company that my film has been shortlisted afterall !!!!!!!!! I almost never use my mobile and was expecting a call on the 'proper' phone. Final Interview is Dec 12th.

Ooooo FT, don't do yourself any damage! Verica, as I said in my post, there could have been even more rewrites if the director and producer wanted them. I've invited a writer / director to do a post to give us a different perspective. I'll let you know when its up.

Thanks everyone. I'm at the 'so near yet so far' phase of my film career. Definitely making moves up the ladder, but I feel that each rung could be as far as I'm going to go. I've been through this whole emotional roller coaster with book writing and playwriting but still waiting for the 'big' break. Aren't we all all.
