    I do remember being little, having gotten gift vouchers for Christmas me and my sister would get all excited for going to buy toys for Woolies. Our one and only reason for going to Newcastle!

  • No one mentioned plastic flowers! I've still got a few my mum bought - a bit faded, now. There's a ladybird button in her button jar, too, but I'm not sure that came from Woolworth's. And I've got some stories I wrote on a Big Top pad (thought it was Winfield, but it wasn't). Wish I still had the Embassy records, even though they were always cover versions.
  • I loved the crepe paper they sold and paper chains at this time of year. I made fancy dress costumes from the crepe paper. Also decorated the Christmas tree pot with it.

    It was my job to make the paper chains each year...
