Credit Crunch Rejections (CCR!)

edited May 2009 in - Reading
Just had an 'in the current climate' rejection letter. The gist was they might have taken the risk if it wasn't for the credit crunch. Anyone else had a CCR?

Comments

  • Was it a publisher or a magazine Lou?
  • Sad thing is that the CCR is an easy thing to say, isn't it?
  • Depends. I was munching on a ginger biscuit when I tried to say it, now my desk is covered with softly glowing golden crumbs (of comfort)...
  • Thanks for the image RG...I suppose it's better than watching half of your biscuit falling into the mug of coffe you've just dipped it in :)
  • Could I have some of those crumbs of comfort please, Random?

Publisher, Carol. A book I had high hopes for. Never mind, sending off another three today. Get back on the bicycle!
  • That's it, keep sending. Good luck on the next one.
  • About a year ago a friend of mine had a similar ‘in the current climate’ rejection. I wonder if it’s an excuse because they don’t want to go to the effort (or don’t have time) of giving individual detail.
