My Weekly just bought 2 more stories. I'm a bit concerned because this might mean I'm about to get another vet's bill!
They turned down 5 others, to balance the books (npi) and suggested a rewrite for another, which I shall be doing asap.
(PS: npi means No Pun Intended)

Well done on the sales Ceka.
I always remember a story Stephen King told years ago about his first major pay cheque. He was at the point of giving up and was working longer in his job because they had no money. When suddenly he received a letter and a payment of $2000 (may have been a lot less)from Playboy. He went out after work to celebrate, drove home drunk and crashed the car. The mechanic's bill came through on the same day as the payment. It cost $2000 to repair the car. If he hadn't sold the story for $2000 he wouldn't have celebrated and crashed the car costing him $2000.
Great story, ST.
Dorothy you're a slave driver - but I take note of your comment and HAVE ALREADY rewritten the one that needed pruning - and sent it back - and fished the 'masculine' one out of the guts of the computer ready for 'competing' - I'll give it a whirl with the first suitable comp that shows its nose ...
Thanks again, all
Tony, that is such a great story about Stephen King. Hope Ceka doesn't get a vet's bill!
Well done, you!
Mutley - you have articles published in writing magazines - where's the 'going wrong' in that? And don't forget the little rider up there - in the same e-mail another 5 stories were turned down! (send one a month and get 8 back about 10 months later, that's how it goes at the moment!)
