•
After the recent scare about publications on Kindle being pirated, can I ask TBers if their Kindle publishing experience has been good so far?

Nothing has been stolen?

I can only say I have had a brilliant experience selling on Kindle. Excellent sales. Nothing stolen to my knowledge.
I have had to follow the trend of selling my books cheaply but I don't mind. The rewards are well worth it.
• Re Smashwords, unless things have changed:

Print publishers: Wordclay (POD)
•
With Magenta Shaman - no bad experiences, several 5*reviews but sales have completely dropped away
I have MS on my Kindle, Lily, and I have read it once, but it's subtle so I want to read it again more slowly before I review it. I enjoyed the premise very much and found the protags' adventure exciting.

I'm slow at keeping up with everything at the mo. The WIP absorbs all my creative energy, and I hop randomly from it to my tutorial books and other research I have to do for it, and therefore I struggle to keep up with my reading list.
• PBW - as my old aunt used to say "Love yr 'eart". Thank you so much for having read Magenta. I'm very interested that you found it subtle - intrigued. :)

All the very best for your WIP.

• The anthology seems to be back on Amazon. It includes my story, Pillion.

• Hello and many congratulations to all of you who have been so busy and productive!

It's spurring me on to get working on my formatting and publish my books online. I am not a complete technophobe but I am seriously threatened by the idea of coming to terms with smashwords as a friend of mine who used to teach IT has tried to publish through smashwords and found it a complete pain in the you-know-what...

Is it tricky, faffy and a nuisance or is it easy to get the hang of? I don't have an e-reader device so I can't download their 'style guide'. Do I need to or is it possible to manage without this?

Two of my books are non-fiction with table of contents, bullet points in the text etc - is that easy to work out with their formatting rules?

Yikes, so many questions to ask so I'll shut up after this one - if I upload a novel do I need to give a list of chapters / page numbers in the front of the book?

Thanks all and once again, so good to hear all the brilliant news on your work!
• I had just typed four lines of info, when I was told I had no right to do so, as I was a stranger not signed in!!!

So I'll have another go:

My Smashwords ebook, price $1.30: www.smashwords.com/books/search?query=the+find

Kindle ebook, price 98p: www.amazon.co.uk/The-Find-ebook/dp/BOO4RKOR1Q/ref=pd rhf p t l

I don't know why the blue underscore didn't work - can anyone tell me, please?

Fixed, also the Amazon link you gave is wrong and doesn't work.

• My book The Other Place has been reduced by Amazon today to 72p. I don't know how long for.
I hope I've put the link in correctly!

Hi, KayEss. Welcome to Talkback. Why not introduce yourself with a new discussion under the Welcome Writers category, and then join in some of the other discussions? There's the One Word Challenge to enter, too.
• Hi, Jay. It isn't good to have to start with an apology, but I have to say 'sorry' for not replying to your post. In my defence I can only blame too much real life and not enough memory, but we all have busy lives, so that's no excuse really. I've taken your advice and posted on the Welcome Writers thread.

Thanks for your interest.
• Jay's not well at the minute, Kayess, but will be back! If he doesn't answer, he won't be ignoring you.
• I hope he's better soon.
• Hi folks, here are the current links to my ebook A Devilish Pastime, a history of the various football sports. The version on Amazon is in Kindle format, the others are (I think) epub.

Coming up soon, all being well: Apple, Page Foundry and Baker & Taylor (all via Smashwords).

Apparently it was shipped from Smashwords to Apple a few weeks ago, but I've no idea how to check whether it's actually available on Apple yet. Does anyone know how to do this? I don't have an iPad or anything of the sort, and can't find an ebook/ibook catalogue on the Apple website...
• That sounds like a flipping interesting book. I've Tweeted it for you.

In celebration of the imminent release of the second Nancy Kerr and Tommy McIntyre book, Throwaways, my publisher have reduced the Kindle price of the first book Hell To Pay to £1.98 at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hell-to-Pay-ebook/dp/B00DJFB9G2

In a nutshell the book is about a Glasgow office worker who wakes up from a coma and swears revenge on the men who killed her parents and left her for dead. It's been described as a "violent revenge thriller."

• I've got three separate short story collections out as well as an omnibus edition with a 'three for the price of two' offer. You can find the details at http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_14?url=search-alias=digital-text&field-keywords=maggie cobbett&sprefix=Maggie+Cobbett,aps,180
• Jenthom72, I still have it to finish - just haven't had time.

• Montholon, I like the way you've done the cover for the omnibus by including snatches of all 3 of the individual covers. Well done!

Jenthom72, just popping over to Amazon to have a look at your book now.
• Thank you both. Deciding what to do about a cover for the omnibus wasn't easy and I'm glad you like the result, sallyj. Jenthom72, I hope you like what you see on Amazon.
• Thanks, Sally.
BB, no worries. Hope your writing's going well.
• I know that many of you have already read this short story collection that I first brought out around a year ago as an ebook, but here's an opportunity for those who haven't. It's free to download for the next couple of days. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Anyone-Murder-Other-Crime-Stories-ebook/dp/B00AW28FOE/ref=sr_1_4?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1390724445&sr=1-4&keywords=maggie+cobbett
