    Lots of thunder and rain early this morning.

    We had a huge thunderstorm starting around 6 this morning and there was torrential rain with it. I had lots of containers out in the garden to capture any rain as the garden has been so parched and some have overflowed. About three inches of water in a couple of old washing up bowls out there for example. Luckily it does all seem to have soaked into the ground now and there is no major damage although the ox eye daisies are flat on the ground where they had been standing almost three feet tall.

    The heavy rain stopped around 11 am. While it's slightly muggy, the cloud has remained.

    The weather was fine, but when we left Sainsburys it was heavy rain- the straight down type. We waited about five minutes and it seemed to be easing up, but the moment we were outside it came down heavy again and we got soaked.

    And of course, by the time we got home it stopped, and the sun was shining again.

    Today, there's clouds but they're not as thick or grey as yesterday's.
