We're behind flood banks, but the big risk is the drains.
When I went out this morning, even though the bus was going at lower speeds due to the amount of traffic and the rain, but there was so much standing water it was creating big sprays as every vehicle went through.
The drains were struggling to deal with the amount of water coming down.
Been dry and not windy today even though it was forecast to rain. Had lots of rain and wind yesterday and through Thursday night, so the drainage ditches and fields have lots of standing water. Not seen the ditches this full before in our 2.5 years here, but thankfully there`s no real risk of flooding.
Thanks for your concern but I am safe although both ends of main road close to me have been impassable for some time.. A friend arrived home yesterday evening and said is now clear.
Surrounding towns still flooded and many homes there flooded.
I’ve not been out since Thursday. Thought it best to help keep out of emergency services way.
We're going to see a lot more of this, I'm afraid 😳 All those homes built on flood plains! And the whole problem exacerbated by water companies releasing sewage instead of spending their profits on improving the pipes and infrastructure.

Blowing a hooley this morning, and wet.
Yesterday evening's local weather report said the weather front would be moving further into North Notts overnight (last night).
We've had a dry spell this morning, but now it's light rain.
