I've been toying with the idea of changing the title of my WIP.
So, over the weekend, I had a sit down and pondered alternative titles. I came up with severeal and decided on one that i especially liked. After adding a few more words to my story, I decided to update my cover design with the new titles to see how it looks.
I find that - as I design stuff as my job - that a "visual" of the cover (you know, for if I ever self publish) - helps to motivate me when writing.
Gave the Friday Fictioneers a break while we had several lots of visitors during July. Now that I have a bit of glorious spare time, I came up with a little story for this week's photo prompt:
I looked at the Friday Fictioneers photo prompt this morning and... nothing. So I went shopping and let the photo work on my subconscious. My story isn't the greatest piece of flash fiction, but it sort of fits the photo. Hope you like it.
Hilarious events, Helen - I posted a haiku (well, it’s really a senryu ) since your boat was called ‘haiku’!
I don’t remember if I shared this post here earlier in the summer, but I have just updated it with a photograph of me being presented an art award - I had just walked several miles to get to the venue, so I was very flushed and hadn’t even brushed my hair!!! :O Of course if I’d had my hair done and dressed up for the occasion I wouldn’t have won, so I don’t care!
Well done, Lizy. I decided I was too busy to contribute this week - not so much because I couldn't come up with a story - but mainly because I won't have time to read and comment on all the other FF stories. I roughly totted it up last week and I commented on excess of sixty stories... and whilst I enjoy reading the stories, that takes up quite a lot of time!!
They do suggest that if you're pushed for time, comment on ten forward and ten back from your own. Me, I have a few favorites and then I cherry pickthree from each line.
No blogging this week - it's too time consuming and I have too much to do. And I won't be blogging next week either, because I'll be on the road. Once I'm ensconced in Spain and have my internet up and running I'll have the leisure to indulge again.
Thanks, Lizy. That country park had masses of those orchids just at their prime. Really beautiful. The family have been meaning to take me to see the ship graveyard for ages as it is part of one of their favourite walks but it was only a few weeks ago that I had the opportunity to join them. I was surprised the process had carried on for so long. Love seeking out these unusual and quirky places and they are fun to write about, too.
Unfortunately, it won't allow comments any more as, apparently, I have reached my 'limit'. There seems to be some way that comments can be made via FB, but I'm blowed if I can work out how to provide that option (it has come up on a couple of the website pages, but not on the blog!).
Edited to add: Oh! Just checked back and there are a couple of comments. Peculiar...
Mae West is sometimes attributed with the saying, "I always say, keep a diary and someday it’ll keep you." although she may not have been the first to use the line.
I have just added a new post to my blog about Keeping Diaries. One particular diary came in very useful when writing a nostalgic piece for Waterways World recently.
