We’ve had a beautiful, sunny day here in Warrenpoint. The lough has been a hive of activity all afternoon with sail boats, currachs and canoeists and day trippers strolling along the promenade. If it weren’t for the temperature you’d think it was summer! B-)
Perishing cold, blowy, feels like -13 now (it's warmed up since 7am) and the ancient heating boiler has failed. Fortunately the hot water is on a separate tank, and we have electric heating in the bathroom. Forecast is for snow showers and freezing rain, then things should begin to warm up.
On my walk with Lola my cheekbones ached, J said it was even colder in Bristol. -10 with wind chill. It's getting windier atm.
I've made little feasts for the birds and put them out in old ice cube trays - bits of cheese, raisins cut up, mealworms, bird seeds and sesame seeds. I was going to add chicken fat but apparently that can stop them flying as it coats their feathers.
Now don't take this the wrong way - I'm not being mean, or smug - but I woke to blue skies and sunshine. The wind had changed direction and it was beautifully warm when I took Rosie for a walk - I didn't even need a coat! It's clouded over now and cooled down, but the biting chill hasn't returned... yet!

Light layer of snow.
The postman delivering across the road is wearing shorts.

Yes, I'm in Spain not Ireland.
